If you are looking to emulate the sophistication and elegance of French design in your bedroom (or should I say Boudoir) then you should look no further than French-style chateau beds.  With designs based on original antique beds, these French style beds can add the elegance without adding a major withdrawal to your bank account.

Collections I have seen online include fabulous Rococo beds with intricately designed headboards and foot boards.  One particular bed was built in mahogany with a silver leaf finish; the bed looked fit for a princess.

The Chateau style beds can be quite large and domineering in a room, so when shopping for a new bed you should consider the size of your bedroom, the current design and whether adding a new bed would leave you with no floor space and whether it will clash with the existing design.  If you do have the space then a French bed (whether it’s an upholstered Versailles bed, a French Louis Rococo bed or a solid mahogany bed) can transform your room and create the perfect space to live and sleep in.

If you are looking for the ultimate in French beds then you may want to look at the four poster collections, these beds could easily be “too much” for some rooms but could potentially be the perfect bed for your home, I believe the bedroom furniture would also need to be fairly substantial and chunky to not be swamped by the bed, and so a set of solid wood bedroom furnishings would probably be necessary.
